An Invention About Unleaded Free-cutting Brass

Unleaded Free-cutting Brass
Model: HDT Series
Description of Unleaded Free-cutting Brass :
Cutting performance is superior, the lead content of very low (less than 60PPm), cadmium is less than 2PPm.
The invention relates to a multielement additive for preparing unleaded free-cutting brass and a preparation method and application thereof. The additive contains the following components in mass percent: 65-75% of copper (Cu), 5-22% of bismuth (Bi), 3-10% of tin (Sn), 0.5-5% of cerium (Ce) rich rare earth, 0.5-2.5% of phosphorus (P), and less than or equal to 0.05% of impurities. The additive is prepared by a vacuum melting method, and when the additive is applied to preparing the unleaded brass, the addition is only 20-70g/kg fusant. In the invention, appropriate alloy elements and contents thereof are selected to substitute Pb which is harmful to the human body to improve the cutting property of the brass, and the elements are added to the brass fusant in a multielement additive form, thereby reducing the burn out rate of the alloy elements, and simplifying the melting process. Brass prepared by the additive has low production cost, excellent cutting property, excellent mechanical property, excellent processing property and excellent corrosion-resisting property; and the products completely meet the international requirements of environment protection, health and safety standards.
