Lithium fluoride is not soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in water, soluble in acid and hydrofluoric acid. And other halogenated lithium, it does not hydrate formation does not occur and the deliquescence. It is the most stable alkali metal fluoride. It is produced by lithium hydroxide or lithium carbonate and hydrofluoric acid reaction. Lithium fluoride is often used as a flux in glass, glaze and ceramic industry, the flux in the electrode coating, and can be used in the production of aluminum and other molten salt chemistry. Lithium fluoride is an inorganic compound with the formula LiF. It is the lithium salt of hydrofluoric acid. This white solid is a simple ionic compound. Its structure is analogous to that of sodium chloride, but it is much less soluble in water. It is mainly used as a component of molten salts.
